At Cala del Forte, Gino Battaglia's Italian Yacht Master Association. The captains' convention at the marina

The chosen location for celebrating the 10th anniversary of activity and conducting a series of conferences and meetings with the main brokerage firms and captains of the world's most prestigious yachts is Cala del Forte and the port of Ventimiglia. This event is organized by the Italian Yacht Masters, one of the most important associations of Captains, founded and chaired by Gino Battaglia. Battaglia, who was present at the meeting yesterday morning, is considered an icon: he is regarded as the world's best captain and has commanded, among others, the mega yacht Sokar, owned by Mohamed Al-Fayed and likely the last refuge of Lady Diana in the summer of 1997, the year of her disappearance. Italian Yacht Masters has obtained the membership of 100 captais. Welcoming the attendees at the port of Scoglietti, for the first of 4 meetings to be organized in Ventimiglia, sponsored by the Hill Robinson company, were the port director of the border city Marco Cornacchia and Anita Amalberti, the new Business Development Manager of Cala del Forte. Bringing greetings from Ventimiglia, in the presence of 40 captains and other captains connected online, was the mayor of Ventimiglia, Flavio Di Muro. The mayor emphasizes the importance of these meetings in Ventimiglia, capable of attracting the main actors of the Italian and international nautical world. "I am pleased to note - remarks Mayor Flavio Di Muro - that the chosen location by the main Italian association of yacht captains is Ventimiglia. With Cala del Forte, we have been implementing excellent synergy for some time to develop services for the port and the city. The scheduled appointments represent a prestigious and numerically significant presence in the sector: in addition to the captains, there are the crews, and they represent not only an asset for the port but also for the city center and the historic center." The appointments in Ventimiglia, probably chosen for its proximity to France and Monaco, and therefore a worthy international setting, indeed, besides being a working table, also represent a kind of refresher course and training for yacht captains and their staff.
