On May 8th, IYM, represented by its Vice President Maurizio Capitani, joined the 60th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Nautical Institute Giovanni da Verrazzano. This event commemorated the discoverer of the New York Bay and honored the 500th anniversary of this historic milestone. This occasion featured the inauguration of the navigation simulator, specifically designed for students aspiring to become future captains. IYM generously donated 2 Azipods to the Institute, enhancing the simulator and providing students with the opportunity to experience this unique propulsion system. The Azipod, capable of rotating 360 degrees, is used on cruise ships and superyachts over 70 meters in length. This donation from IYM, aimed at fostering the development of future maritime leaders, is just the latest example of its commitment to supporting charitable causes for the benefit of communities and individuals.
