«We were founded in 2009; we are therefore a younger company compared to many other companies in our sector, which boast a long history and family experience passed down from parents to children. Despite this premise, we have been able to grow significantly to become a well-known company, appreciated by both private customers and shipyards». This is how Renato De Pascale, owner of Sun & Shade, begins by introducing his company active in the sectors of upholstery and technical covers, specializing in particular in the nautical sector.

Sun & Shade has customers both in Italy and abroad. «About 20% of our customers are foreigners, generally companies that manage large boats or boat rentals», explains De Pascale. «We have also expanded the market thanks to word of mouth among shipyards».

To grow further, Sun & Shade is focusing on finding new staff. «We need people who are motivated to undertake this profession, with a great desire to learn», says De Pascale.

Among the new products from Sun & Shade, there is a new type of adhesive cushion fixing system, already much appreciated by shipyards. Thanks to this system, it is not necessary to drill parts of the boat, an operation that leads to the creation of possible critical points that could favor the passage of water inside the vessel.

«On the materials side, it is worth mentioning the water-repellent and stain-resistant fabrics that allow us to offer increasingly innovative products», says De Pascale. «90% of our production is aimed at the nautical sector, the remaining 10% is aimed at the home sector, with garden armchairs, shade cloths for swimming pools, gazebo covers».

On the side of cushions for boats, yachts, motorboats and dinghies, Sun & Shade offers products made with fabrics that are resistant to water, UV rays and wear. The range includes all the upholstered furniture elements present both in the internal and external space of the boat, such as sofas, lounges, sun loungers, cushions for the fly, cushions for the aft cockpit.

Awnings and biminis for every need

Sun & Shade creates custom awnings for boats of all sizes and types, including models with transparent and modular glass windows to enjoy shade or sun as desired. Also available are awnings for shade, awnings for the bow, bimini tops for the fly and aft biminis that generally require a stainless steel structure. The fabrics used to make awnings and biminis are made of ultra-resistant fabric to water, solar rays and mechanical stress, designed to last over time.
