Admission Process

Only candidates who meet strict standards of professionalism and competence can become members of italian yacht masters.

Aspiring members of the association must follow a specific procedure: candidates need to have the professional qualifications required by the Statute, be sponsored by at least three senior members, and will only be admitted after a meticulous review of their documentation by the Probiviri and a final assessment by the Board of Directors.

Requirements for Membership

Individuals who share Italian Yacht Masters association's goals and are committed to achieving them can become members. Eligible candidates must possess one of the following Certificates of Competence:
• Master Mariner (STCW Unlimited)
• Master of Yachts 3000 GT (II/2)
• Master of Yachts 500 GT (II/2)
• Comandante del diporto (Yachts senza alcun limite di stazza)
• Capitano del diporto (Yachts di stazza non superiore a 3000 GT)

For First Officers:
• Chief Mate 3000 GT (STCW II/2)
• Ufficiale del diporto

admission_process.Members Obligations

Members must pay the annual membership fee determined by the activity programs. They must comply with the Statute, the Organic Regulation, and the resolutions of the governing bodies.

They must keep their profile on the IYM website updated with truthful information, responding promptly to secretariat emails when requested. Members are required to adhere to the association's Code of Ethics and comply with all its provisions.
